21cc Fireworks have been appointed by the organisers of the Tall Ships Races to provide a spectacular fireworks finale to conclude the 4 day visit from the ships when they dock in Greenock in Scotland on Saturday 9th July 2011. The fireworks will be on the evening of Monday 11th July 2011. The ships then set sail again on the next leg of their ‘Around the World’ race on the Tuesday morning.
Director of 21cc Fireworks, Geoff Crow, said: “We are thrilled to have been appointed for this prestigious, world stage event. What we are proposing is a short, sharp and dramatic display. We will be firing the show from multiple locations on the water using a wide range of special effects and colours. This display will be one to see and one to remember for years to come. With the display in Scotland, we have some scottish themes running through the show, including an array of enormous Scottish thistles running the full length of the Garvel Embankment. We also a have some surprises that will put ‘smiles’ on peoples faces. This will be one of the biggest shows in Scotland this year. It is very exciting.”
The event is to be attended by an estimated 700,000 people over the course of the 4 days, with and estimated 250,000 people being there on day 3 for the fireworks finale. ‘With just over two weeks to go until The Tall Ships Races sail into Greenock, anticipation is building for what will truly be a fantastic event’.
This looks set to be a busy weekend for the 21cc Fireworks team with the T in the Park fireworks finale being fired the night before on Sunday 10th July 2011.
